Eagle Scout Bringing Smart Signage to JABG!
- 8/28/2025
Meet Aaron Resch! Aaron is heading into his senior year of high school and has been a familiar face at Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens for the past three years. Having lived nearby his whole life, Aaron discovered JABG first by visiting on school field trips and during classes at Krav Maga down the street.
Now, as part of his final Eagle Scout project, Aaron is planning to replace all of the garden signage throughout JABG with new, educational signs that include QR codes. These “smart signs” will link directly to additional information about the plants, offering an interactive, educational experience for visitors of all ages.
Aaron has been part of Boy Scouts since childhood, inspired by his older brother. The program has instilled in him a strong connection to the outdoors and a commitment to service. His Eagle Scout project is not only the culmination of years of hard work, but also a reflection of the life skills he’s developed along the way: leadership, initiative, and a desire to help his community.
