Get Involved Today!
Volunteers at the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens have an indispensable role in nurturing the mission of awareness and understanding of plants and people.
We have several ways you can help:
Greeters and Guest Relations – Interact with our guests in a casual way. Sit or stand at the entrance or walk about the Arboretum “getting your steps”. Answer questions, meet and greet other lovers of the Arboretum as you represent our lovely gardens.
Horticulture – Our garden is your garden! Socialize with other botanical enthusiasts. Weed, water, prune, mulch and complete other basic outdoor gardening tasks under the supervision of experienced horticulturists.
8am – 11am – Wednesdays and second Saturdays.
Education – Serve as a Nature & Garden Guide educating and creating lasting outdoor connections for schools, groups and our community.
As needed, weekly or monthly.
Trail Maintenance – Conservation Corps is for those who are hard core environmentalists! They help maintain our trails by eradicating invasive plant species and create unique settings for our guests on the outlying ecosystems of the Arboretum. This team is more advanced and requires additional screening to join.
Third Saturday of the month.
Special Events – Join the Special Events Crew for our signature events, welcoming guests and making memorable experiences for all those attending. Please visit our events page for upcoming events.
We are grateful for your interest in the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens! Please let us know which group appeals to you and when you would like to join us. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
