We're growing our infrastructure - starting now!

Over a year ago, we made an announcement about the future installation of a sewer lift station and connecting our bathrooms to water and sewer services; we’re happy to say that the wait is over! You should expect increased construction around the Arboretum parking area in the next few weeks as we begin the process of implementing these improvements, which will likely take around four weeks to complete. You may also expect some redirection of parking during the construction. Please adhere to any signage that is placed - we promise to make the process as transparent as possible!
Our commitment to enhancing our facilities, trails, gardens, and hosting engaging events for the public has resulted in an annual attendance of over 140,000 visitors, something that we are incredibly proud of. However, this increased traffic has placed a strain on the holding tank in our restroom facility, resulting in weekly pumping at a cost of $300 per service.
We believe these crucial water and sewer improvements will not only alleviate the current strain on our facilities, but also enhance the overall experience for you, our valued visitors.
But that's not all!
Thanks to our friends at Hollywood Decks, we will be installing a boardwalk along our Lower Ravine Trail, creating accessibility further into nature for all of our guests. Some areas along Jones Creek Trail may be closed off during this construction period, which we hope to have complete in the next month or so.
We are grateful for the ongoing support from our community, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we progress. The Arboretum's future is bright, and to reach that potential, we must navigate through some extended processes for improvements such as these.
Thank you again for your support – we look forward to the successful implementation of this project for the continued enjoyment by all who visit the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens!
